What’s inside the set? What are its advantages and weaknesses? Is it only for home-use, or can you introduce it to the classroom? Can Boost compete with WeDo? How does it compare? In this article, we try to answer these questions and many others. Fortunately, several system updates later, we managed to run LEGO Boost app on Windows 10 laptop computer and finally, test the product. Then, the dedicated app simply refused to work with any of our tablets. First, we received a set without several parts, so we had to wait for another LEGO package. Interestingly, the testing process involved some unforeseen adventures. Therefore, although the product wasn’t designed strictly for educational purposes, we decided to test it out for you. The robots you create can be controlled via Bluetooth, WiFi, smartphone app, and programming the command unit directly. The command unit is a programmable block with an ARM9-based CPU that runs Linux, with 16MB FLASH memory and 64MB RAM. LEGO Mindstorms EV3 is the third generation in the programmable robot series. I love building things with LEGO, from as far back as I can remember to this day, with the Gadgeteer Kid. The modern world develops and changes so fast that traditional teaching methods, mostly based on direct knowledge acquisition, become more obsolete day by day. Why teach it?
